Dale with some of his paintings

Dale's work is renowned for its energetic colour palette and inventive subject matter, and it encompasses enamel, acrylic, and print. "I am trying to present an exciting visual conundrum designed to hold the viewers' eye and mind and engage both to a mesmeric state. By using print, paint, enamel and collage, I explore meaning, emotion and the human experience using process, technique and manipulation." Dale lives in the UK and is based in Suffolk. He studied at the Slade and Cyprus School of Art. Dale Devereux Barker is an artist working across various media and scales. He is particularly well known for his lino cut prints, a medium of which he has a deep knowledge and a unique approach to using this material, combining a celebration of colour and form with warmly engaging subject matter. The events of everyday life are transformed into colourful images loaded with humour and feeling. Objects about the home, mealtimes, figures in interiors or engaged in daily activity all take on a new life through his very personal imagery.
