Sonia York

Lives and works in Essex
Sonia York studied painting in Florence and at Byam Shaw School of Art. She has continued to paint for 56 years. Her work includes public and numerous private commissions. She has produced murals for Ipswich Hospital and paintings for Basildon Hospital. She has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, The Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. She has held notable one person shows at Baskett and Day in London and shown in numerous mixed exhibitions significantly in the seminal ‘Pandora’s Box’ at Chisenhale and Arnolfini, Bristol.
